What We Believe: Biblical Fundamental Doctrines
The Oneness of the Godhead:
One Lord – The way
Hear O’ Israel, the Lord our God is ONE Lord (Deuteronomy 6:4) the commandment of God from the beginning of the world is that there should be no worship or acknowledgment of other gods. We understand and hold the infallible truth that Jesus Christ is the Lord God Almighty, the Alpha and Omega, the Beginning and the End.
We do not believe that Jesus is a second person in the Godhead but that HE IS the Godhead (Colossians 2:9). Jesus is the chief cornerstone, the (one) spirit from the beginning that was made flesh.
Jesus is the father (who was – the creator Genesis 1:1); Jesus is the son (who is – Flesh and Savior I John 5:20); and Jesus is the Holy Ghost (who is to come – a holy spirit John 4:24).
We understand that God himself (who is THE spirit) became a fleshly body and dwelt among us (John 1:14) to reconcile us and give his own life as a sacrifice and propitiation for our sins.
1 Tim 3:16 And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness:
God was manifest in the flesh (John 1:1, 14),
Justified in the Spirit (John 10:30, John 14:7-11),
Seen of angels (Acts 1:10-11),
Preached unto the Gentiles (Matthew 28:19, Acts 11:18),
Believed on in the world (Acts 1:8, Romans 1:16),
Received up into glory (Acts 1:9).”
There is no other God formed with him, before him, or created after him nor are there any proven or indicated separations of persons within the godhead. There is only one God, who is one person. I John 5:7 “For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one.”
Jesus IS the Mighty God
(Isaiah 6:9)
Salvation:
One Faith – The Truth
We believe and uphold the biblical way of salvation as preached by Peter on the day of Pentecost when God freely poured out the Holy Ghost (his spirit) for the first time in Acts chapter 2.
Acts 2:38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.
Repentance is the mandatory turning from and rejection of your sins (rebellion against godliness). 2 Peter 3:9
Baptism (by water)
One Baptism
Understanding that there is only one God and Jesus is his name, Baptism must come by full immersion in water IN THE NAME OF JESUS,
“ For there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we MUST be saved” (Acts 4:12)
Baptism must be in the Name of Jesus (Matthew 28:19, John 14:6)
Baptism is the washing away of sins and entering into marriage covenant as the bride of Christ by taking on his name.
The Holy Ghost: (Baptism By Spirit)
Born of water AND spirit
The Holy Ghost is the fulfillment of prophecy; it is the ability of Jesus to live and work within man. Jesus dies to reconcile man and when he ascended, HE returned in the form of the spirit on the day of Pentecost to operate among mankind from within mankind.
The Holy Ghost is the spirit baptism (John 3:5-6) and is mandatory for salvation as it is a promise and the gift of God. Peter commanded, under the unction of the Holy Ghost, that we receive the Holy Ghost with the evidence of speaking in other tongues. The infilling of the Holy Ghost Must be evidenced by tongues (Isaiah 28:11, Acts 2:1-8, I Corinthians 14:8) and further evidenced by a life that reflects the spirit’s influence within.
Holiness
The Life
We believe, teach, and live the life of holiness and separation. What separated us from God in the beginning is the fact that we became an unholy people and he remained a holy God. By his coming in the flesh, he fulfilled the law of sin and condemned sin in the flesh (Romans 8:3). Through this, Jesus set us an example that it is possible and we are not only capable but expected to be a holy (sanctified and separated) people in spite of our sinful nature. Through his grace, by His spirit living in us (the Holy Ghost), we have the power and ability to live holy.
I Peter 1:15 “But as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation; 16 Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy.”
